What do you do when you are not playing chess?
I like listening to music and watching various sports.
Why did you join the club?
To improve my chess and to participate in competitive league matches.
What do you like about chess?
I like the logical problem-solving and calculation aspects of the game.
What’s the best thing about being a member?
The members are extremely supportive and welcoming. I have also been given the opportunity to play against many strong opponents.
Tell us something about your successes in chess
I won the British Under 14 championship and represented England in the European and World Youth Championships. I also obtained the Candidate Master title recently.
Who is your chess hero?
Vishwanathan Anand. I like his attacking play style and positional understanding.
What chess book have you found most helpful?
I prefer learning from instructional videos such as the Powerplay series by Daniel King and by using Chessbase to analyse annotated games.
